Black pincushion scabiosa seeds

Die Blüten der Schwarzen Skabiose färben Stoffe und Garne in Tönen von petrol-türkis bis zu blauviolett, ganz ähnlich den Blüten der Schwarzen Stockrose – anders als die Stockrose blühen sie aber schon in dem Jahr, in dem man sie aussäht! Wie die Samen der Sunflower Hopi Black Dye I recommend them especially for bundle dyeing.

The annual plant thrives in beds or containers. The long-stemmed flowers are in bloom from July to October and can grow up to 80 cm high. Give it a sunny spot with well-drained, moderately nutrient-rich soil.

The seeds were grown locally. I offer a kit with several dye plants.

Start indoors: from mid march–may
Plant outdoors: mid May
Sow in place: May – June
